Restaurants : Private & Personal

by Piers Fawkes

We all know the best meals can be made at home but how many of us darlings can ever find the time? And with the size of apartments in major US cities it’s not like America really is Dinner Party happy. Yet some people are trying to change all that with “secret restaurants”.

Coach Peaches in Brooklyn is a private dining club, located in the proprietor’s apartment in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, offering dinner and cocktails twice a month to select guests. Five courses and some plonk costs only $25.

In East Bay, California, Joe’s “Bustaurant” has been serving special dinner from a vintage bus. It’s cheap and easy with wine out of plastic cups but like Coach Peaches the seating is strictly invite-only where new members are treated with suspicion.

So the question is - how do you get on the list??

Maybe a first good step would be to subscribe to PSFK Newsletter ;)
