AT&T Rolls Out Wireless Broadband

By Piers Fawkes on July 21, 2004

AT&T Wireless launched the 3G networks offering wireless broadband in 4 cities on Tuesday 20th July. The company’s third-generation technology (3G) offers users in Seattle, Detroit, Phoenix and San Francisco access to video, e-mail and other data at speeds six-to-eight times faster than a dial-up modem over their phone and even into their laptops! Competitive networks are expected to be not far behind. Later this year, the AT&T service will be available in Dallas and San Diego.
