Does Heinz Really Mean Beanz?

beanzThe 1967 ad man Maurice Drakesat in a London pub considering a new advertising campaign for Heinz baked beans with his team. Over their few pints they came up with what is considered as one of the all time great advertising slogans: ‘Beanz Meanz Heinz’.

Maybe it’s homage to the legendary slogan or maybe it’s because there are not too many creative beans in the whole of the marketing department that Heinz have announced that they are going to introduce a dramatic product name change. Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Beans from today will be called Beanz. But is it a load of old gas?
