Cinefour theaters claim to have started a new trend in video gaming when film theater managers took four video projectors, set one up in each of four Utah theaters with a Microsoft XBox video game system connected to it, and then let the 16 teams battle it out on the game ‘Halo’ until the wee hours of the next morning.
“Tonight blew our minds,” theater co-owner Calvin Timothy said afterward. “We’re definitely going to keep doing this.”

Wow…I wonder when it will reach London. I actually thought of this idea (yeah right…no seriously!) a while back…and I wish I could have been there! I heard Playstation did actually look at doing something like this about a year ago..looks like Xbox beat them to it. However, on another note, XBox are going to need many tricks up their sleaves like this to rival the new oncoming of the Sony PSP. Perhaps another trend piece on its way…

Its not hard to see how this could be executed by cinema chains, or even bar chains with private rooms. Last time I was in Japan I spent many hours in a private room with 10 other friends singing Karaoke, would I spend a night in a private room in the pub or at the cinema, drinking beer and playing video games, let me think about that for a moment……..YES BRING IT ON.
