Blooming Basslines

by Guy Brighton

music_bird_corporation“The hills are alive with the sound of music”

Well…quite possibly!

They look, feel and smell like flowers. That’s because they are flowers. Hold on, is that music I hear? Oh yes, that would be the flowers too!

Coming straight from the Music Bird Corporation in Japan and still in its primary phase, a new sound system uses flowers to emit sounds through its leaves and petals. The setup functions as a directionless speaker with the sound being altered simply by the size and type of the flower in the base.

Initially prices are to range from about 5,000 yen to 50,000 yen and other models to be made available are said to include an internal amplifier version, an FM tuner and amplifier, and an internal power source version.
