Text To Landline Service

by Piers Fawkes

With all our passive aggression we can’t help but love the new British Telecom service called BT Text. The Europeans have always been more advanced than their US counterparts at using their digits to post SMS messages to other cell phone users rather than speak to theminperson. Now they can avoid speaking to people on their landlines.

By sending a text from your cell phone to a BT Landline the recipient will get a call and the message read out in a robotic voice. We can’t get enough of it. Especially after a few pints on a quiet night. Our current favorite messages: “THIS ROBOT- HUMAN THING JUST ISN’T WORKING OUT, DARLING” and, of course, “BOOGIE. BOOGIE. BOOGIE.”
