Now I’m not a fan of Karaoke – in fact, I think it’s best if I stay off the subject for fear or ranting too long – however, there’s a new kid in town that goes by the name of Movieoke (moo.vee.OH.kee).  Hailing from the streets of New York’s East Village, Movieoke is taking the media and film buffs by storm.  And yes, it’s even set to hit other shores soon.

If you ever thought you’d make the perfect De Niro, Rambo or even Sally (the one who met Harry) – here’s your chance.  A high-concept cross between Karaoke and open-mike night, Movieoke provides the chance for brave film buffs to hop on stage, stand before a projection screen and aided by subtitles re-enact much loved scenes from classics such as Showgirls, The Breakfast Club and The Godfather.

Movieoke was created and developed by Anastasia Fite – a filmmaker living in New York City.

Has Karaoke met its match?
