&lt;p&gt;In London the Hemple Hotel which started the whole new wave of luxury hotels many years ago has been sold for only £12m.  I also understand that many of the celebs who were to frequent the Starck Hotel St Martins and the Soho based Sanderson have never turned up prefering the old stalwart 5 star hotels of West London.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In Ireland hat designer Philip Tracey has apparantly been commissioned to design the inside of a new luxury costal retreat hotel called &quot;The G&quot;.  This is more like the designer / hotel collaborations we have mentioned on PSFK in the past.  &lt;/p&gt;
