Josh Rubin seems to have tapped into a groundswell of interest in the Adidas sneaker recently featured in the film ‘Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou‘. In the film, the team of barmy oceanographers have their own branded uniform/kit that includes Adidas sponsored sneakers.
Josh suggests that we send an email to Adidas Customer Service in the hope that enough interest will spur the sought after Adidas Zissou sneaker into production.

I have added you to our growing list of requests! Please understand that the Futures system used in this industry puts a burden on foresight and demand forecasting. Any manufacturer can produce any product they think will sell, but if their retailers are not interested, there is no reason to go to production. To voice demand to the retailers as well as the manufacturer will greatly increase your effectiveness. As much as sales reps will try to influence them, Retail Buyers need to understand there is a demand. Sometimes that influence comes only from the Consumer.
