Jade for YOO: The Celeb Designer Marches Into Architecture & Interior Design
Over the last five years the YOO brand has become one of the most innovative and visionary property developers in the world. Founded by John Hitchcox and Philippe Starck, the YOO name has "redefined the conventions of residential design and property marketing, injecting verve, wit and personality into every project the company takes on," Dexigner reports.
4000 YOO apartments have been developed in many different cities and countries including Moscow, Boston, Miami, Tel Aviv, New York, Sydney, Seoul, Germany, Austria, Madrid, Melbourne, Argentina, and Phuket.
Now YOO have joined forces with Jade Jagger to create "Jade Jagger for YOO". As creative director of "Jade Jagger for YOO" Ms. Jagger will be designing interiors, communal spaces and recreational rooms. "It’s about styling a long term investment," she told WWD.
We’ve seen fashion designers already get involved with interiors (note, Philip Tracey’s work on ‘The G’ Hotel) but maybe we’re seeing a bigger trend here. PSFK has commented before on the emergence of the celeb designer in the fashion sector and maybe now we’re witnessing the emergence of the celebrity designer in even more creative fields!
