Omotesando’s Brand Architecture

By Guy Brighton on January 10, 2005

An ongoing trend in Omotesando, Tokyo is the creation of showcase builidings as ‘monuments’ to brands, Influx reports.

Prada started the trend that attractes the best architests globally to design these buildings. Other architectural monuments to brand include the Dior building, Louis Vuitton, LVMH’s Japanese HQ and the Tod store (pictured).  As Influx says:

"Beyond the functional, these stores work on a pure branding level. They provide unique experiences for the luxury shoppers, they often reflect or refer to certain elements of the brand in their design and are created to be written about and admired."
