Sony_ericsson_k600Swedish-Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Ericsson will launch digital Walkman phones in March to better tap into the mobile music market, seen as a top growth area for 2005, its head said on Monday.

Although some of Sony Ericsson’s models already feature a digital music player, the new handsets (the K600 and Z800) will have more music playing features, more memory, the ability to easily import tracks from a PS and access to Sony’s digital download service on the Internet, called Connect.

  1. GIZMODO:
Sony’s new flash player is lovely—I can’t get enough of the smooth sub-surface OLED displays. The new model has shown up on a few web pages here and there but hasn’t been officially announced. It beats the pants off the iPod shuffle in everything but capacity, as the largest model shown so far is only 512MB. The battery life, on the other hand, is stellar: 50 hours from each charge of its Lithium-Ion batter

  2. quick note: the phones they just released are k600 and “z800″, not “k800″. k800 is the name of their next non-walkman phone and the walkman branded phones will be called w600, w700, w800 and so on.
