90s Lower East Side Stickers

By Guy Brighton on March 17, 2005

A couple of weeks ago we brought you ‘Old School Source Code’ – a site jammed full of old school hip hop flyers bursting with raw design to inspire us today. We didn’t realise that this would turn into a series: today we present Lower East Side Stickers.

J Morrison at The Nonist has published pages and pages of stickers grabbed from the streets in New York’s LES between ’92 and ’95. As J Morrison says,

"Between the years of roughly 92 through 95 I peeled many a sticker in the lower east side. this was before i shut my eyes to the barrage of information on the streets out of consumer exhaustion; before i became a working graphic designer and was still impressed by and hungry for nifty logos and graphics."
