Another one of our favorite past-times is watching Coca Cola squirm as they try to find direction. Here’s the latest bit of fun:
Today we learned that Coca-Cola will be dropping the “diet” and “light” names from some of its well-known soft drinks (in the UK only??).
The company has decided to rebrand the low-calorie variants of Fanta, Sprite, Dr Pepper and Lilt. It will use the letter Z instead so that Sprite, for example, becomes Sprite Z.
The change does not affect Diet Coke. Coca-Cola said it was “reacting to consumers’ changing desires and lifestyle choices”.
PSFK says: how does changing the aesthetics of a can of drink demonstrate a reaction to consumer’s REAL changing desires and lifestyle choices?
