Event: Wooster Collective Tour In Old NYC
The Wooster Collective, a group of "downtown artists dedicated to documenting and celebrating
the global street art movement", have announced their 3rd Annual Street Art Walking Tour which will be held on Sunday, May 22nd at 2pm.
Last year it was packed out!
Launched two years ago as part of the Psy-geo-conflux estival, the Wooster Collective Walking Tour attracts more than 100 participants each year from ages 18 to 80. The tour offers information for the
street art novices as well as new insights for the connoisseurs.
Beginning at 2pm at the Orchard Street Gallery (60 Orchard St) the two-hour tour will allow participants to discover and discuss street art found in New York’s Lower East Side and SoHo. A casual approach to learning about art, participants on the walking will wander the streets discovering original artwork that is fastened to street signs or painted - often illegally - on the sides ofbuildings.
Sarah Schiller said, “This is a terrific opportunity for people to experience New York through a new lens. The walking tour exposes people who live in the city to another layer, one that is filled with art everywhere you look."
