Yahoo! has launched a new email
photo-sharing service (in beta), which aims to reduce the amount of memory needed
to attach photos to messages. The free PhotoMail
service allows users to insert up to 300 photos into the body of an
email without the images utilising attachment size limits and inbox
storage space.
When a PhotoMail
message is sent, the images are automatically stored in the sender’s
free Yahoo! Photos account and the pictures appear as a thumbnail in
the e-mail, making it easier for the recipient to view them, as there
are no large attachments to open.
Although it sounds like a good idea, PSFK wasn’t able to check this out because I don’t use IE. It’s not available to Mac users either. Hmmmmm, now what systems would the early adopters of photosharing technology be using? Not going for the influencers then, Yahoo?
