BlogBuzz: Microsoft vs. Apple
If you want to get geeky (and even scientific) about the influence of blogs on brands and brands on blogs - then take a look at Matt Galloway’s BlogBuzz analysis of the Apple & Microsoft brands. By looking at Blog Pulse Trend statistics he has been able to monitor the impact of announcements such as new product launches from each of the tech brands. Some interesting analysis includes:
"Microsoft has a reputation of over-promising on
features years before the product exists. In this regard Microsoft
is a like the little boy that cried wolf – when they do announce
something important, no one comes running. Microsoft spikes of
interest are the announcement and release of their virus/spyware
detection products and the Xbox360 unveiling… the Microsoft Xbox team seems to really get it."
