Designer Airlines – Branding India
True to Dan Pink’s predicition in “The Whole New Mind,” the air-lines in India have gone to the extent of hiring designers and creative consultants to fabricate a whole new look for their airlines. As a result, the Indian skies have become more colorful than its festivals!
Airlines have resorted to using traditional Indian colors (red, yellow, saffron) and traditional motifs (chilli, rangoli, camels, kites, etc) to create the external look of the airplane. The Indian airports are literally splashed with color.
In addition, to beat the competition, airlines are offering discounted tickets and have launched major promotional and marketing campaigns.
