Live 8 Ticket Lottery

150,000 tickets are available for the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park and the only way to get one is by SMS.  The competition was launched at 8am today and since that time there has been over 1.5million texts received by the organisers (at 5pm BST) – at £1.50 per text this has already nearly covered concert costs.

Entrants have to be aged 16 and over and answer a simple multiple choice question to 84599 before midnight on Sunday: Which city is nearest to the G8 summit in July? A) Berlin, B) Moscow, C) Edinburgh.

Organisers said the first £1.6m raised from the text competition will go to The Prince’s Trust which is sharing a proportion of the income with Help a London Child.

The rest, after paying the costs of the concert, will go to the Band Aid Trust.
