Cell TV Update: MTV & Korea

Cell TV Update: MTV & Korea

By Piers Fawkes on July 22, 2005

MTV has partnered with Motorola to offer consumers programmes that can be downloaded for free on their mobiles.

It’s part of a six-month MTV Load campaign and promises "off-beat  humorous animation and live action that  can be downloaded by MTV viewers to their mobiles, free of charge" (reads NetImperative’s suspect reporting - it looks like it’s been cut and paste straight from the press release).

Meanwhile, the Korea Times announces that free broadcasting services to handheld devices may be on offer across South Korea next year after testing later this year in Seoul:
"The service, called terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB), enables people on the road to enjoy crystal-clear video, theater-like audio and receive data via handheld devices."
