Guardian Print-Web Mash Up

Brd_1_050720_21313551The UK’s Guardian newspaper is demo-ing an online version of their paper where you can flick through graphics of their pages and when you find an article you want to read, you just click on it and it appears in HTML text on the screen.

A bit over-cooked, no? Makes PSFK wonder: Is this for web users who miss printed newspapers or for newspaper publishers who don’t get the future of their media?

    Remember, not everyone is most comfortable with consuming news over the Internet, but if has to be done, it might as well be done with a format that is familiar and that they are nostalgic about. A small market, but a paying market nontheless.

    P.S: I forgot: It’s been up for a year and your favourite NYTimes and WaPo have similar editions, too, but The Guardian’s is best. The World’s largest English Language Daily Newspaper, The Times of India, has a similar edition, too.
