Or Waste is Art? More and more we are seeing art and trash being used together to send a message to the public about waste and unwanted materials.
The Student Creative Recycle Art Program (S.C.R.A.P.) in California offers a gallery of art created from scrap. Additionally they have published a book together with the city of Cathedral City entitled, "Don’t Trash My Planet". The book is designed to give kids, teachers, and other adults ideas on how to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Responsibly.
Ken Nathan, a North Wales artist with 6 years experience of making "Trash Art" is currently working on 4 15-foot figures to be displayed at the Manchester Art Show next month. He will use materials varying from nappies to computers and batteries "to raise awareness about the dumping of waste".
