Bic Company have just announced the sale of the 100 billionth disposable Bic pen since it was invented just after
WW2. For a company whose stated objective is to "Design products that have minimal impact on the environment" that’s a lot of plastic. At 15cm, lined up end to
end this would stretch 3,750 times around the globe, or 40 times to the
moon and back.

FLASHMOB ALERT – Let’s ask Bic: Why they’re so proud that they’re
still producing plastic non-biodegrable disposable pens? What they’re
going to do to clear up all those non-biodegradable pens? How do they
plan to evolve into a company that leaves a zero-ecological imprint? Or
whatever else you want to ask them.
