As Hurricane Rita revs up into a Category 5 hurricane, only weeks after Katrina caused such horrible devastation, many of us are asking: Is Global Warming to Blame?
MSNBC-TV is asking the same question today. The non-scientific survey results show that the population believes the answer is yes.
The expert consulted in the article, however, says no. This expert, Stanley Goldenberg, a meteorologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration states:
What people have to realize is that we’re in a part of an active long-term cycle in hurricane activity. What happens in the Atlantic is that you have several decades of below normal activity, and then you have several decades of above normal activity.
I personally side with the general population one this one.
