If you want to discover Copenhagen beyond design and jazz, why don’t you take a drive north along the kystvejen (coastal road) and spend a day at the famed Louisiana Museum of Modern Art ?
Kystvejen has been described as one of the top ten worldwide scenic coastal roads. As a Dane, I am biased but I have to agree: it’s fantastic. No other place conveys such an overwhelming feeling of space, serenity and relaxation altogether. It’s a trip for the senses.
Inland, the houses are small and more or less sparse. No intrusive apartment blocks. Above, the sky. Below and ahead, a wide strip of road. To the sea…water, waves, ships and a stunning view towards Sweden.
As an extra bonus, you get to see Arne Jacobsen’s Texaco petrol station and some of Denmarks most expensive properties. No wonder, given the view.
So go ahead, have a drive and give your senses a full dose of feelgood.

Beautiful indeed.
That’s one of the things I love about living in Canada – a sense of space.
