Vespa Creates Street Theatre Buzz
Vespa has created two clever street promos in Toronto. The first involves two actors whereby one, posing as a delivery driver pulls up in front of an outdoor patio and leaves. About ten minutes later, a girl (the second actor) comes around and starts asking people, “Is that your Vespa?” and finally the “delivery guy” returns and she asks him for a ride. Off they go (apparently to frequent applause). The second promo is happening in conjunction with the Toronto International Film Fest. Called “Vesparazzi”, a Vespa is parked outside a hotel lobby. A hired actor then leaves on the Vespa and is immediately followed by 40 women who come screaming after him on foot. The Globe & Mail even reported on the happening, mistakenly identifying the driver as Orlando Bloom. Clever.
