AOL To Buy Weblogs Inc

AOL To Buy Weblogs Inc

By Piers Fawkes on October 6, 2005

AOL is to buy  Jason Calacanis‘ Weblogs Inc blog empire, PaidContent suggests (rather proudly). According to the report, Calcanis did the rounds with Yahoo, News Corp and MSN before signing a deal with AOL. Estimates suggest the value of the sale could reach $35m.

Weblogs Inc has a network of about 80 fairly standard blogs and a couple of gems (Engadget and Luxist). This deal is a great sign for the future viability of blogging as a successful business model, I feel.

… hmmm, so if PSFK has three blogs that would mean our value would be $35m/80×3=?? ;)
