Pretty well known street-art fella Banksy opened an exhibition of his work last week with 200 live black rats living in the expo space’s front window. The title of the show is ‘Crude Oils’ and promises to be a gallery of remixed masterpieces, vandalism and vermin. The show is only open for 12 days.
Interestingly, the Londonist reports that someone’s donw a Banksy and gone in and put up their own artwork piece (a pastiche of Magritte’s Son of Man)!

I thought it was a great show and has established Banksy as a proper artist. A lot of hype has surrounded the ‘Crude Oils’ exhibition but the hype appears to be justified. The ‘Kate’ work in particular was amazing. Banksy has now done a limited edition silkscreen of this image which is (slightly) more affordable than the £10,000 original at the show. I bought one from this great on-line gallery, http://www.artificialgallery.co.uk. It’s simply gorgeous!
