This cab (#5P42) hit the streets of NYC in November of 2004. It’s owned by Team Systems of Long Island City, NY. They were given special permission by the NYC Taxi & Limousine Commission to test this LTI TX2 cab for a period of one year. If this UK built cab wins approval from the Commission it will be interesting to see how many private and fleet taxi operations in NYC are willing to spend $50K to acquire a TX2 taxi.
Ahhh.. Yeah, I remember watching an NY1 clip about how the cabs are too expensive to finance re. the fact cabs can only be up to 3 years old. Well – I hope something comes off from it. Thanks for your comment Carl
Spotted a couple in San Francisco this week as well.
