_40925722_cds203How much do you think you are going to spend on concerts, CDs and records in your lifetime?

According to the results of a new survey the average person spends £21,000, although a ‘music enthusiast’ will spend double that amount.  Other figures from the report include:

  • £891 worth of equipment to play music;
  • £425 a year on CDs, gigs and mags;
  • 7 out of 10 go to a musical event every year;

Director of marketing Roger Ramsden for insurer Prudential, who commissioned the survey, said: "Most people would describe themselves as a music fan of some sort or another, but what is really amazing is just how much money people find themselves spending on it."

With iTunes and sales of mp3 players becoming more and more ubiquitous, this spend is only likely to go up.
