Open Source Filmaking - Sort Of…

by Guy Brighton

…our good friend Hugh MacLeod (of GapingVoid fame) has done it again!

Not content in creating a superbly successful bespoke suit-making business plus spearheading a  ‘marketing disruption’ campaign for a South African winemaker, he is now inviting his readers to get involved in analysing a film script of his friend, Scottish Film Director, David MacKenzie.

The whole idea came about from a discussion regarding film critics - Hugh quotes MacKenzie in saying:

"…by the time they offer any useful criticism, it’s too late. The money has already been spent, the film is in the can, and there’s nothing I can do to realistically address their concerns."

The script is available for download from the blog post:Hallam Foe: Gapingvoid post (filming starts in January).
