Google & The Spamblogs

A recent review suggests that over 75% of spam (or fake) blogs are created on Google’s Blogspot service - and the growth is primarily driven by Googl’es AdSense program. Search Engine News has some commentary and gives some insight into the rise of spam blogs:

The reason d’etre of these fake blogs is generating revenue by directing visitors to e-commerce sites or by using Google’s AdSense service. Fraud and spamming dilutes the confidence that serious advertisers place in AdSense and this can be expensive for Google in the long run.
