More Google Goo

by Guy Brighton

Google makes further strives to become the company that knows enough about you to sell enough stuff to you: today, they launch in beta two services Google Base (a free classifieds service) and Google Analystics (a web stats service). Here’s how they descibe themselves:

Google Base is a place where you can easily submit all
types of online and offline content that we’ll host and make searchable
online. You can describe any item you post with attributes,
which will help people find it when they search Google Base. In fact,
based on the relevance of your items, they may also be included in the
main Google search index and other Google products like Froogle, Google
Base and Google Local.

Google Analytics tells you everything you want to know about how your
visitors found you and how they interact with your site. You’ll be able
to focus your marketing resources on campaigns and initiatives that
deliver ROI, and improve your site to convert more visitors.
