Site Visit: SuperDeluxe

Over the past year or two though, we’ve all heard trend forecasters speculate on the return of customization and unique products. But is there anyone new out there really doing it as their core business? On a somewhat obscure section of Chrystie Street in NYC somewhere between Nolita and the Lower East Side, SuperDeluxe is one of the best new examples of this trend. IF recently found the shop completely by accident and stopped in for a look.

SuperDeluxe can best be described with the term sort of… it’s sort of a store, sort of a studio, sort of a gallery, and sort of a design firm. While on paper it sounds confusing, translated to the space it generates a lot of curiosity. The shop is owned by designers, Karin Spraggs and Adrienne Wong. Both have known each other for a long time and share backgrounds in advertising, package design, and printmaking. IF sat down with both owners to get insight into how SuperDeluxe came to be.
