eBay transactions where people buy and sell ad space on body parts is everyday news now. So should it be surprising that in Texas, an entire town has agreed to change its name in exchange for 10 years of free satellite television service?
Friends and family of residents of Clark, a Fort-Worth suburb, will now address their holiday cards to, Dish, Texas.
DISH TV will provide all residents with free satellite service and a digital TV reciever for 10 years for this name-change. Dish town is hoping the publicity will attract new residents as the contract will extend free TV to anyone who moves to Dish.
Sounds tempting? Dish mayor is probably accepting applications for new residents…

Almost exactly the same story as the half.com renaming a town that happened way back in bubble 1.0. Cited in Buzzmarketing : Get People to Talk About Your Stuff by Mark Hughes.
