US fails to participate again.

US fails to participate again.

By Guy Brighton on December 10, 2005

Today in Montreal more than  150 UN members agreed to open formal talks planning the next phase of environmental action that will come after 2012 when the Kyoto Protocol expires. The US failed to participate pulling a repeat of their bowing out of the Kyoto Protocol. A Yahoo news report quoted Switerland’s Bruno Oberle as saying the support of the United States and China are needed to fix these problems.

It’s really a shame, concern for the environment is something that should transcend politics. The coming years may be a great opportunity for all of us, Americans, Chinese or otherwise, to sort of grass roots engineer a sustainable world by managing up. We can have a far reaching impact as comsumers simply by making responsible decisons in choosing who we do business with.

So all politics asside, you didn’t really think the government was going to save us did you?
