Piers is happy: our stats look as if they’ve bounced back after the festive snooze. What he doesn’t know is that the boom in stats is because Google is sending huge traffic to PSFK’s article on the 2006 Dodge Challenger because of searches for the new monster motor.

Does this strong interest reflect future demand?

  3. Build it and they will come!! Dream’n

  4. I want mine in Lime Green with a Hemi

  5. wow, this is exactly what i imagined the new charger looking like…what a disappointment that was. i would definately buy this challenger though, talk about a new era of muscle cars!

  6. I just wish that pontiac and dodge would have put as much thought and effort into making the gto and the charger…both of which were disappointments…this challenger is about the sexiest beast i have seen since the 70’s.

  7. Got to have it. ( WOW ) Will be checking the dealers soon.

  8. Finally A car thats steps into the gym, and builds some muscle into it

  9. I had 70 cuda 383 4 speed brand new and loved it!
It’s about time we have a truly all american muscle car and show alot of these folks who own these foreign throwaway cars what a muscle car is all about. Bring it on and make it happen!

  10. I currently own a 1971 Dodge Challenger convertible with the Hurst 4 speed pistol grip.
I have owned this car since 1975. The car is completely stock from the factory and I will never sell it.
If your going to make a Challenger Convertible with a stick then sign me up now!

Also, we need the Challenger Convertible with more chrome and hood name plates.

  11. I own a 69 Road Runner Conv, with the 383 4spd and thru all the years of hardship; can’t give up on my motto; No Power like a Mopar! I love the sound of a healthy mopar strating; Great idea to bring back the real cars, not cream puff cars

  12. feels good to have a true competitor come into the scene. The retro look is a beautiful concept. The Mustang should not be the only retro/ muscle car in the market for 2006. Ford proved themselves to be successful by re-inventing the Mustang in a huge way. Certainly, Dodge is looking at the big success of the ‘05 Mustang. I heard the GM even has a concep Camero now..but of course, it resembles a ‘68 or ‘69 style. Newsweek even tells us the it would have 400 HP!. Dodge has made the attempts with the Charger name coming back (sorry, it’s a sedan), their trucks beefed up, striped with some “Mopar” colors…the Magnum…(come on…it’s a beefed up station wagon!!).
Dodge, you’ve come this close will all these other ideas….close doesn’t count when you see a beautiful concept liek a 2006 Challenger. Put the pedal down and build the Challenger! Hey, since the Challenger and ‘Cuda had basically the same frame and Ebody…we’re this close…Plymouth…build the ‘Cuda too! Hey, this Pony is good enough. If the concept becomes reality…I’ll get rid of my Crossfire and drive this car…I would prefer a Chrysler body with a a real Chrysler motor.
Now…down to details…what will the exhaust sound like?, would there be factory performance headers?, would there be striping options?? Will RT be stamped somewhere?? Will there be a convertible? If not, would a vinyl top be an option? How about a shaker hood? Can I get a wood steering wheel with a pistol grip shifter??

  13. I CURRENTLY OWN 3 CHALLENGERS & A BARRACUDA. LOOKS LIKE I’LL BE BUYING MY FIRST NEW CAR, A HEMI CHALLENGER!!!!! THANKS FOR NOT SCREWING IT UP LIKE THE CHARGER. P.S. DON’T OFFER IT IN A FOUR DOOR.

  14. yea i am the third one on the list in missouri to order a new challenger!!! totaly BADDDDDD!!! ride. I love it

  15. I had a 72 Challenger growing up and enjoyed every hour I drove it. Like most of you I feel it is about time Chrysler get back to the past for muscle car ideas. If production models stay true to the concept I’ll have one of these parked in my garage, its the only car I have been excited about in thirty years.

  16. I WAS GOING TO BUY A STREET ROD THEN I SAW THIS ONE BAD (GOOD) LOOKING HOT ROD @ I SHOWED IT TO MY WIFE @ SHE TOLD ME BUY THAT ONE. 23. I SWEAR!-I will buy one right now! I hope Chrysler adds some available extra performance packages to personalize it.

  24. I just bought a new Ram with a Hemi and love it. I can’t wait till this is at my Dodge dealership. I will buy one, this is the coolest car I have seen in a long time.

  25. For years I have been wanting Plymouth to bring back the Cuda. I have a 73 Cuda with a 318 currently in parts. With this I am iching to put it back together.
Aside from the Plymouth and the Cuda badge, and of course the round tail lights that is the car I had in mind. Detroit – make it! AAR Cuda and I will sell everything to own one. I will buy the production version if it looks this good.

  26. Simply Wow !!

Big fan of Challengers sice I was a little guy… Dodge has hit a home run on this one !! Don’t forget where you came from – Mopar rules.

  27. it is about time someone came out with a car that actually look like the car they r trying to reproduce. leave it to mopar to lead the way.

  28. I love the fact that the Challenger is coming back to Dodge…any chance of the Barracuda making a comeback also? When is it supposed to be in productivity? When will it hit the showrooms?

  29. top class

  30. if they keep it cheep enough they will sell lots more
