Bono Sees Red

Bono Sees Red

By Guy Brighton on January 26, 2006

Today, Bono launched Product Red, a new initiative which sees partners American Express, Gap, Converse and Giorgio Armani producing a range of "red" branded products with a share of profits to go to the fight against Aids in Africa.

"Philanthropy is like hippy music, holding hands. Red is more like punk rock, hip hop, this should feel like hard commerce," Bono said.

What an amazing group of commercial partners, and yes they will be getting great press from it, but who cares, it’s allowed as it’s a great cause. A great example of doing good means doing great (profits).
