Thousands Dial Up Hearing Test

Something to inspire you: After the British charity for the deaf, the RNID, launched its Breaking the Sound Barrier Campaign with a TV spot on Christmas Day 2005, the response has attracted on average 5,500 calls a day to the phone number. More than 150,000 people have checked their hearing via a telephone test, the charity says.

The test, on 0845 600 55 55, takes five minutes, with responses via the keypad
