Al Murray, the character of off-beat Brit comedy Pub Landlord, is about to move to LA for a pilot on Fox, the Independent reports. In the British series, Al spends much of his time chatting to a slacker played by Phil Daniels and reflects upon the French and why women should drink wine not beer. Yeah, it’s a local thing… so could it translate to Santa Monica where he is to be based?

I saw him live in London a while back and holy cow this man is funny!
Mind you, he spent half the time bombarding some poor bloke next to me with racist jokes. Mind you the bloke was French. Oh, and an actual pub landlord – talk about asking for it!
God knows what the yanks will make of it…
