Tesco To Launch 100 US Sites From West Coast Base

by Guy Brighton

Last September PSFK reported Brit mega-retailer Tesco’s intent to enter the US market. Now more news: Tesco plans to build a new convenience store chain in America organically from next year and no acquisitions are planned.

The group intends to spend £250 million a year on the project, based on the Express convenience store format in the UK, and expects to break even by the end of the second full year of operation, the UK Times reports.
