The NY Times Magazine at the weekend pointed to the rise of the CyberAthlete. Video gamers dedicated to competing with other gamers in, normally, sports or first-person shooter games. There are championships with quite substantial prize sums now available and sites like GotFrag.com have statistics databases of teams and players.
