Brits Lose Their Taste For Fizz & Choc

by Guy Brighton

Britvic, the manufacturer of Tango, Pepsi and Robinsons drinks in the UK, has announced that there has been a move away from sodas and soft drinks containing sugar, the Daily Telegraph reports. Britvic says:

"The consumer trend towards ‘better for you’ is accelerating and as a consequence, sales in the carbonates category, except those with no added sugar, have slowed.’"

Sales of chocolate and fast food has slowed too. However, food watch groups say that it’s still difficult for consumers to know what really is a healthy alternative and point to the 325 calorie McDonalds Salad as an example of this (their Cheeseburger has 300).
