European Retailers Take On RFID Tagging Systems

by Tim

Rfidlabel2 The Retail Bulletin reports the forming of a “business action group” by leading European fashion retailers, including large retailers, apparel manufacturers and major fashion brand owners. The group will focus on the need for global standards for RFID tagging systems in the apparel & footwear markets and look at how these can be implemented and extended. The move reflects the growing interest in the fashion sector for item-level tagging, as opposed to case or pallet-level tagging. RFID is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags.
