Martina over at Adverblog points to the distressing news that Heineken was going to water down their pretty damn good beer by introducing a light version.
Looks like they want this to compete with Amstel Light.
Their lager with which most people are familar is pretty average — nothing spectacular. Some biscuity malt, no noticeable hops, and a bit of the import skunk in the bottled version.
Their light version is probably just the same in terms of light lagers. I haven’t had it yet.
But I see no reason to drink either since so many great beers are brewed nearby.
i love heineken light, it is a great beer and i believe it was a great idea of heineken to introduce it to the US to compete with all the light beers that are tacking over the majority of market.

Let’s not compare apples and oranges. This is a light beer. And compared to other light beers, it’sway above average for body and flavor.
