PSFK’s JT Hangs Solo Art Show, Fort Wayne
After years of promoting other artists PSFKer JT Barnhart has decided to offer his own art to a broader audience. For his first solo show he has chosen a laid-back gallery coffee space in out of the way Fort Wayne, Indiana.
“I’ve been painting since I was a kid. I was taught to draw and paint by family members who were artists. I learned to make block prints and got more into photography while I was living in Japan. So, this show was kind of long over due. The painting had taken a backseat recently because I’ve been devoting so much time to commercial photography. If I had known it would be this much fun I’d have hung a solo show ages ago. I’m getting a lot of support from everyone and the response so far has been great.
Thought about showing in San Francisco, New York or even Chicago but I really wanted my family to be able to see this first solo show and while there are a few bigger and more traditional galleries in the area, none have this kind of exposure. The Firefly Coffee House is a great space. …Actually, a few of PSFK articles have been written there.”
There is a photography show in the works and JT is looking at galleries in New York, San Francisco or possibly LA for shows later this year. Anyone interested in hosting a show or acquiring pieces is encouraged to contact jt@psfk.com.
