Really.Simple.Shopping

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) technology has penetrated yet another area of the web – e-shopping. NYTimes is reporting that retailers like eBags, ICE.com, TowerRecords.com and others are using RSS to feed product alerts to users.  As NYT correctly points out, the biggest stumbling block to further adoption is the lack of awareness of RSS in the broader internet user community. Let’s hope the firefox-inspired orange RSS icons popping up everywhere are helping that cause.
