Should Cult of Mac Celebrate on Wallstreet?

There’s been a noticeable disconnect between the online community and the financial community when it comes to Apple lately. Despite the palpable hype surrounding the approach of Apple’s 30th birthday on April 1st coinciding with very confident speculation coming out of Taiwan that Apple is indeed shopping around for a cell phone maker, the stock market still continues to punish Apple’s share price (down more than 30% since hitting a high of US$86.40 per share at the start of the year).

The Apple faithful believe that Steve Jobs will come out with something big this weekend. Recent lawsuits (The Beatles, France) and Ben Bernanke’s continuing crusade against US inflation have just provided them with an opportunity to bet big on it.
