Q. First up: what on earth is the Blooker Prize?
A. It’s the worlds first celebration of blogs that become books.
Q. Oh, so a blook is a book based on a blog?
A. Exactly.
Q. But I can’t think of any blooks?
A. Of course you can. There’s Belle de Jour, Eggs Bacon Chips and Beans, and All the President’s Spin to name but a few.
Q. So who’s behind this?
A. Well you’ve got Cory Doctrow of BoingBoing, Paul Jones and Robin Miller.
Q. And who’s Lulu?
A. A website that allows budding authors to publish their own books.
Cool eh?

Actually, “Lulu Blooker” really sounds like a “Madame” name. Prize for the best escort girl of the year then? Oh! But isn’t that the topic of Belle de Jour.
Nice….

I think blog publishing in print has a big potential. QOOP is working on a beta application that allows blog printing, too.

If you’d think up a nice complimentary payment system and get over copyright issues could be that some day you’ll get to be the editor of your own mag using the millions of blogs out there as sort of newsagencies for you. Would be fun.
