US Is ‘Telecom Trendsetter’ Shocker

When we travel we tend to hide our US phones from our European and Asian friends out of sheer embarrassment. But news today tells us that we should be proud of our ‘hamburger’ phones: the new Nokia CEO has said that US is actually a trend setter. Reuters says:

The United States is especially important, because world trends originate there,” Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo said. “Many things spread elsewhere from there, rarely the other way round. If something succeeds in the United States, it can easily become a global success. The ‘clamshell’ phone was an example of this,” Kallasvuo said.
